This is a unique chance to experience first-hand what it's like to work with a team of dedicated zookeepers and encounter the animals. After meeting the monkeys, continue your adventure around the rest of the zoo. Spread over 37 acres in Colwyn Bay, the zoo is home to tigers, penguins, meerkats, reptiles and more. Meet every one of the animals that live at the zoo and prepare for a day packed with animal encounters and primate fun!

What do I need to know?
- All our vouchers are fully flexible and can be redeemed against our huge range of experiences
- Your voucher is valid for two people
- Available week round, year round excluding bank holiday weekends and during the Easter holidays
- The experience itself lasts for around 20–30 minutes in total
- Bookings can be made via email only – when booking in, please contact the Welsh Mountain Zoo with your booking reference number and at least four possible experience dates
- Pre-booking is required for this experience, with at least a week's notice preferable (longer for dates requested in school holidays)
- Please note that during busy periods, Animal Encounters can take up to seven working days to be processed
- Minimum age: 7 years
- Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult
- A maximum of two people can take part in each animal encounter per day and only two animal encounters (each being a different animal) are available each day, subject to keeper availability
- Pregnant women cannot take part in an animal experience without first seeking advice from their doctor and proof will be required
- Please wear comfortable clothing suitable for all weathers and for working with the animals, including trousers and closed toe shoes such as trainers, walking boots or wellingtons – the zoo reserves the right to refuse those who does not wear suitable clothing without offering a refund
- Participants will be asked to leave if they behave inappropriately or in an unsafe manner that could put themselves, staff and others or animals at risk
- A reasonable level of fitness is required to take part in all experiences
- Not suitable for those allergic to dust, animal fur or bedding
- All participants must be up to date with their tetanus vaccinations
- There will be a protective safety barrier between you and the animals
- All dates are subject to availability
