Everything was amazing. The warm welcome on arrival, the lovely room, superb food and fantastic location. Definitely recommend.

So glad we booked this hotel it was an amazing stay. From beginning till end, staff so helpful,?food delicious, spa experience so calming in wonderful garden setting, and good night sleep in comfy beds. Many thanks for our upgrade on arrival. Will definitely be back just walking distance to Grasmere village

We added this one night stay onto a further two nights at this Hotel. We have been many many times over the years. The Hotel has been taken over by Bespoke Hotels so we were expecting great things as we received an email saying how the Hotel had been renovating the bedrooms etc. We stayed in room 23 this room needed some TLC there were stains on the ceiling paint off the door and window sills, a very tatty door mat, crazed sink not been touched in any renovations. We stayed dinner bed and breakfast and although the quality of the food was good the choices were extremely limited. So much so that my husband had exactly the same meal twice in a row and I on the last night had to have two starters as the choice for mains were poor, no refund was offered for not having a main. Didn't .expect it to be free if you wanted a change, we were quite willing to pay a surcharge. They have also removed the coffee and petit fours from the dinner and is now extra.We did try to raise our comments with the manager but was told he was on leave and the girl behind the desk listened to our comments but only told us that if we returned to contact them. Unfortunately this has put us off returning which is a shame because we loved it there.

Beautiful hotel in lovely location with food that is off the scale gorgeous! Harry, the under manager could not do enough for us and a real mark of his integrity was that he did not reserve his positive, kind and cheerful demeanour just for the guests but also treated his colleagues with the same respect and caring whatever level they were. The mark of a true professional perfectly suited to his career. A memorable stay, we will be back for sure!

Had a great weekend at this Hotel. Lovely room overlooking the River with a balcony. Great quality food.
