This Special Birthday Treat was not a Treat! There was no atmosphere and the service was very poor. The teacups were chipped and also the teapot spout. Sandwiches were ok, scones and cakes could have been more fresh. Very disappointed with "Luxury" Afternoon Tea.

Shouls say either on line or when you book. This hotel only offers ONE playe of sandwiches which was not enough. Most afternoon tea experiences the venues brumg more sanwhiches iif required. We had to pay for morr and only got another 1 finger samdwhich each........... very miserly.

Worst place ever

The service in the restaurant was terrible the waiter was rude when we turned up we might have been five or ten minutes early but there was no way we needed to be spoken to like that. The afternoon tea was OK but when we asked for a refill we were told that we would have to pay for it. During our so called experience my wife went to the toilet to find the dirtiest toilet ever. I thought that the whole experience very disappointing.

Arrived early but we were able to sit in bar area with our glass of bubbly - no pressure to buy a drink.Staff courteous and prompt with any requests we made. Only criticism I would have is that teacups are rather wide and tea cools down very quickly!

Our daughter brought this as a gift for our 25th wedding anniversary ,we were both looking forward to going ,we choose this venue as close to where we were staying on a mini break ,the quality of the food was good ,but lacking on quantity very small portions we were offered tea or coffee, we both had tea and only offered this once considering we were the only guest their so hardly rushed off their feet ,so I wouldn't recommend this venue to anybody and for the photos of the cake display is misleading

Champagne afternoon Tea last Thursday 23rd July. We arrived about half an earlier than our booked time, but the Staff said it was not a problem, they were very welcoming and explained about the tea we would be experiencing. They brought the champagne and strawberries and asked us to look at the leaflet with regard to which tea we would like to drink. Having chosen the staff asked if we would like to drink tea straight away or to wait whilst we finished the champagne. I do not eat egg sandwiches but the waiter said they would prepare a replacement for me. Once we had finished the champagne, the pots of tea arrived along with the sandwiches which included a variety of four types, and beautifully arranged scones, two types, plain and fruit with strawberry and raspberry jam with a generous portion of clotted cream. Also on the stand a selection of five different cakes per person - delightful and very tempting including a little fruit tart. During the afternoon we were asked on several occasions if everything was to our liking and would be like more pots of tea. A thoroughly enjoyable experience and would recommend it very highly.

There were only 2 tables occupied for the Afternoon Tea, but we were placed in a secluded corner and didn't feel like we were rattling about in an empty tin. There was a range of teas to choose from and the "meal" was nicely served. We could elect to have the champagne either first or last. We chose to have it first and then they served the tea whilst we were drinking the champagne, which worked well. There were delicious strawberries with the champagne. We were offered more tea - and I suspect one could have asked for more sandwiches, scones or cakes. However, we didn't finish everything we were served. Altogether a very pleasant experience.

We arrived a little late as the traffic was jammed!! This did not pose a problem for the hotel they were very accommodating. We were not rushed at all whilst we were there. A lovely way to relax. Champagne was lovely and the sandwiches and cakes also lovely. This was a gift for my friend and I from our grown up children for Mothers Day - hope they d it again next year
