Travel back in time to Wales’s medieval past with this sightseeing tour of Snowdonia and three ancient castles. Led by a knowledgeable guide, the tour will start in the seaside resort town of Llandudno, making its way along the Great Orme Road, a coastal road offering spectacular views of the cliffs and Irish Sea. The first castle on the list is in the medieval town of Conwy, with its magnificent towers looking out over the estuary where you can step inside Britain’s smallest house, built into the castle walls. Next up is a trip to Snowdonia National Park, with its breathtaking landscapes and views. Meet the Welsh Dragon of Bethesda, drive along the Roman road of Nant Ffrancon in its U-shaped valley, hear ancient tales about Llyn Ogwen and stop for 360-degree views at Snowdonia Viewpoint. Learn about Wales’s history of slate mining at the Llanberis and Padarn Park National Slate Museum before visiting the fascinating Dolbadarn Castle ruins. Finally, visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site that is Caernarfon, a mighty castle fortress on the shores of the Menai Strait. It’s a wonderful way to learn about Welsh heritage and history.

- Available on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, from March–December
- This tour lasts for nine hours
- Tours depart at 8.30am and return at 5.30pm
- The tour is conducted on a 16-seater minibus, plus the tour guide/driver
- A minimum of four people must be booked on the tour to commence, with a maximum of 16 people per tour
- If the tour is cancelled due to too few participants, adverse weather or other unforeseeable circumstances, you will be offered an alternative date/tour or a full refund
- There are additional entrance fees for entry to the main castle at Conwy and Caernarfon, payable on the day
- This tour does not include lunch, snacks or drinks
- Please wear clothing suitable for all weather conditions. Open toe shoes, flip flops and sandals are not suitable footwear for this experience
